Robert Kavetsky is a Board Member of the Discovery Center and a member of the Development Team and a Campaign Chair. Bob is CEO of the Energetics Technology Center, a non-profit research firm. ETC provides engineering and data analytics services, policy development, and technology development to the government, academia, and private industry. Prior to founding ETC, he spent 32 years as an engineer in the Department of the Navy, building and running hypersonic wind tunnels, as well as developing undersea weapons. Bob was appointed the first Warfare Center Liaison to the Office of Naval Research where he established the N-STAR program, a Navy-wide effort aimed at reinvigorating the science and technology community within the Navy’s Warfare Centers. Bob has co-authored 11 books on a wide variety of national defense-oriented topics. He is a graduate of Catholic University, where he obtained B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Administration. Bob’s volunteer activities include serving as the Chair of the Board of Visitors for the Catholic University School of Engineering, and as Chairman of the Board for the Let’s Go Boys and Girls organization.
